CopyTT Browser Extension
Save eligible videos and photos from the TikTok page you are already viewing, with a download button connected to the selected media.
How the extension works
- Open a supported video or photo already available in your current www.tiktok.com or m.tiktok.com page.
- Choose the Download button attached to the exact video or image you want to save.
- The extension validates the media and asks the browser download manager to save the file.
The extension does not auto-scroll, bulk-download a feed, request or export a TikTok password or cookie, or bypass an access control. It can only work with supported media your current browser session is already allowed to load.
Supported media and clear limits
The current build is designed for supported, already loaded TikTok videos, original Photo Mode images, and eligible static post images that can be safely tied to the current page. It may work on a signed-in feed when your current TikTok session has already loaded the media. Encrypted or DRM-protected media, live streams, ambiguous media, unavailable files, and anything the current session cannot access are rejected.
Compatibility outside the stated Chrome desktop target is not promised until a separately tested package is available. Browser and TikTok changes can temporarily affect individual posts or media types.
Why the extension requests permissions
- TikTok site access places the user-facing download control on supported TikTok pages and connects it to the current media.
- activeTab connects an explicit user action with the active supported tab.
- downloads starts the selected file and reports completion or interruption through the browser download manager.
- storage remembers filename and button-display preferences and keeps minimal short-lived download state.
- Optional feedback host access is requested only after a download failure when the user chooses to send the disclosed technical report.
Local processing by default
Normal extension downloads are prepared in the current TikTok tab and handled by the browser. CopyTT does not receive the media file, complete page or media URL, creator name, post description, or download history during that normal path. Preferences stay in local browser storage.
Optional failure feedback has a separate confirmation and retention policy. Review the full Privacy Policy before using that feature.
